Tour Overview

Tour Overview

On this horseback riding experience to the Devil’s Balcony, we’ll visit the archaeological sites of Kusilluchayoc, the Temple of the Moon, the “X” Zone, and, as the final destination, the fabulous Devil’s Balcony—a cavern with a mysterious shape offering a beautiful view of the Andes Mountains. These are popular and mystical attractions near the city of Cusco that you can explore on horseback. We will explore these sites uniquely, in close contact with the flora and fauna, offering a natural and cultural adventure near the Sacsayhuamán archaeological park.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Ranch – Temple of the Moon – Chuspillo – Antisuyu – Devil’s Balcony – Cusco

The adventure begins with hotel pickup, followed by a trip to the ranch, located approximately 20 minutes from Cusco. Here, we’ll meet our horses and receive instructions on how to handle the animals properly and learn horseback riding techniques.

Our horseback ride takes us to visit archaeological sites, starting with the Temple of the Moon (15 minutes). We then head to the Chuspillo area (15 minutes), traversing a 50-minute segment of the Inca Trail through Antisuyu and the “X” Zone, until we reach the Devil’s Balcony. This site features enormous natural limestone formations and a cavern crossed by a river. Above the road and structures, a small cave resembling a window forms a balcony, historically used for rituals related to water and the earth. We’ll spend 20 to 30 minutes exploring the Devil’s Balcony.

After the return horseback ride (50 minutes) to the ranch, our transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.
